May 7, 2012
Happy Monday, readers! We are so excited to introduce to you the multi-talented Camille, who is a wife, mom, DIY expert, thrifter and blogger over at life in MOD. Camille will share some of her projects and advice with us over the coming weeks, and we hope you’ll follow along. Please help us welcome Camille!
I may or may not have an obsession with lace right now.
That being said, what could be better than adding lace to an article of clothing you already have? It is an instant way to add femininity to your outfit without spending much at all.
Lace trimmed shorts tutorial {no sew}:
(so easy my 11 month old could do it. almost)
Supplies- no-sew hemming tape (I got the iron-on kind at Michael’s, but you can get any kind you like), lace trim found at Hobby Lobby & a simple pair of shorts, which can be found at any Goodwill location right now for just $3.49!
Total cost: $6
The simple steps:
1. measure + cut two pieces of hemming tape and lace trim to fit all the way around the leg openings of the shorts
2. turn the shorts inside out, place the hemming tape in between the shorts and the lace + iron the lace to the shorts (make sure the hemming tape has bonded with the lace and shorts before you continue on).
Yes, it really is that easy. Happy trimming!
