Fall Trends In Store: Fur
I stopped by the new Huntersville store recently and stumbled upon a trove of the most amazing vintage fur accessories.
The velvety soft stoles, collars and cuffs immediately transported me to a by-gone era of luxury and sophistication in every day dressing. And also to my Great Grandma Kabat’s attic at her house in Detroit, when my cousins and I would chase each other around with her fox stoles (the mouths and feet had been fashioned into clips).
Fur is super hot for fall on a smaller scale than in previous seasons. Designers like Michael Kors, Joseph Altuzarra, L’Wren Scott, Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera showed fur as an accent or embellishment. And it couldn’t be more perfect.
While temps are (finally!) cooling in the Carolinas, it is rarely cool enough in the Carolinas to justify a fur coat. Even a fur vest can be stifling at times.
The ideal solution? Fur accents. They can be worn multiple ways, adding instant glam to an evening gown or a sophisticated pop to your standard shift dress.
I’m having mad buyers remorse too — these fur cuffs at Goodwill are $19.99 each. Really. I should have picked them up when I had the chance. I bet some other savvy stylish shopper already realized their inherently chic versatility at an amazing price.
What do you think about using fur as a fall trend? Will you incorporate it into your wardrobe this season?
