Fall trends in store: Leather

Leather is everywhere this fall.

As cute little cap sleeves on dresses…

as a dashing detail to a slim leg pant…

perhaps as a twee Peter Pan color on a blouse.

But you know what is a real outfit maker, a completer piece that has the potential to stop the show? A leather jacket. Preferably vintage or pre-loved (to help with the aged or lived-in look).

During a recent swing through the new Huntersville store, I was drawn to the outerwear like a moth to flame. Perhaps spurred on by the cooling temps, I had to keep myself from loading up all the leather jackets I could find (for $7.99 each!).

Men’s suiting continues to be relevant, with the boyfriend suit coat — a slouchy version of the Mad Men wear — being the most versatile piece, perfect for the extended transition between seasons here in the Carolinas.

What would make that effortlessly chic even better? Effortless chic in leather, naturally.
