2009 By the Numbers: A Year at Goodwill

Here’s a look at what Smiling G and the rest of us at Goodwill have been up to for the past year. We’ll be sharing these stats with everyone who comes to our Cornerstone Celebration at The Westin Charlotte today–follow us on Twitter for live tweets from the event.

2009, by the numbers:

55+: millions of pounds diverted from area landfills

$26,656,360: projected annual earnings by people employed

3,596,500: pounds of electronic waste processed

2,076,982: retail purchases

897,221: material donations

21,149: job training and employment services provided

17,788: individuals served

2,853: placed into jobs

570: Goodwill team members

264: team members with previous barriers to employment

33: total donation sites

20: retail stores

18: counties in North and South Carolinas

6: job centers

1: person makes a difference. YOU.

    I love it. Thanks for sharing. Specifically impressed with the number of folks who have been placed into jobs. You are doing important work!

    Thank you! The demand for our services has nearly tripled in the past few years. Our team members work really hard to make a difference in their community.
