Elizabeth Isenhour, Writer/Editor
Elizabeth has ten years of communications and public relations experience under her belt in both the nonprofit and corporate arenas. She knew she wanted to be a writer ever since childhood, when she wrote rhyming poetry about her stuffed animals. She has a B.A. in English and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Originally from Fayetteville, she moved to Charlotte in 2005 and previously worked as the Public Relations & Marketing Manager for The Mint Museum, where she drew local and national attention towards the Museum’s planned expansion. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys movies, photography and thrifting for clothes for her two young sons, who go through pants faster than anything she ever imagined.
Rachel Sutherland, Style Expert
Rachel isn’t big on rules, but she does adhere to a few principles when it comes to personal style: You don’t need to spend a million dollars to look like you do; No one has to know what size you wear unless you tell them; Self-confidence is sexier than any stiletto or tight dress, and it matches everything you own.
She has been a working journalist for more than 14 years, most recently as Style Editor at the Charlotte Observer, the largest daily newspaper in the Carolinas. In November 2009, she founded Rachel Sutherland Communications, a boutique public relations firm specializing in stylish words for fashionable people.
She was recently named one of the top five Most Stylish People in Charlotte by Charlotte Style magazine.
Amanda Aileen Fisher, Crafter
Amanda was a crafter and vintage addict at a young age. She has always loved clothes from other eras and spent most of her early years wearing things she dug up in her grandma’s shed or from the thrift store.
A few years ago, Amanda combined her love of vintage and crafty talents into her own business, Verabelle, a line of redesigned vintage clothing and accessories featuring her hand embroidery, nostalgic embellishments, and her original woodland creature appliques.
She hopes to infect others with the DIY spirit, encouraging people to find new ways to wear something old–whether from Goodwill or from the dark depths of their closets.

Jennifer Burnham, professional organizer
Jennifer is the owner of Pure & Simple Organizing, a home organizing company based Charlotte. “Our mission is to help families and individuals find calm within their home after clearing out the chaos,” she says. “Mounds of physical stuff weighs very heavy on our hearts and minds. Giving someone the opportunity to increase their quality of life by cleaning up and out is my passion!”
Jennifer says that “being organized” is a way of life, and it can drastically improve anyone’s quality of life. As part of the WOWGoodwill community, Jennifer will share tips on how to de-clutter your space and how to organize your home and your life.
Camille DiPaola, Thrifted Fashion Stylist
Camille often puts together vintage, thrifted looks that are nothing short of high-fashion on her blog, life in MOD. She also become a mother to daughter Madeline in 2011, and shares easy Do-It-Yourself ideas for stylish clothing and accessories that even busy moms can handle!
The oldest of six, Camille developed a love for fashion and design at a young age. Her parents called her the “oh so fashionable one!” and she still occasionally models on the side.
Fun fact: Camille is 50% British!
Jaslyn Roberts, Family Strengthening, Goodwill
Jaslyn Roberts is Manager of Family Strengthening for Goodwill. In this role, she is responsible for evaluating and adding services & programs that will help Goodwill team members and program participants to build strong families.
Through the combination of financial stability, health & well-being, living support and job placement, retention & advancement, families are afforded a greater chance at success with Jaslyn’s help!
Fun fact: Jaslyn is originally from the Caribbean island of Antigua!
Kim Loring, DIY Expert
Ever since she can remember, Kim has looked for a creative outlet. From decorating cakes and painting murals to repurposing furniture and interior design.
She eventually tried her hand at writing, creating blogs to document both her life after leaving the corporate world and then another while on a gluten free journey. Things finally clicked when she established her lifestyle blog, SuperChyc, in 2010.
Kim documents her overwhelming need to create beautiful spaces around her, which sometimes crosses over to fashion, beauty and occasionally food. Her main focus is documenting her own personal “recycle renaissance” which marries her passion for thrifting with her love of giving older items a new life.

During her career as a writer and communications professional, Lelia has learned that her favorite part of communicating is finding and telling great stories. She is passionate about Goodwill’s mission and about helping people understand how donating to or shopping at Goodwill helps our community.
Lelia is always inspired by the ideas that our bloggers write about, so she’s working on a few “crafty” projects now! Her favorite Goodwill finds are Halloween costumes – from nerds to Dorothy to the Royal couple.

Aleigh (rhymes with “Sally”) is the founding editor of this blog, where she writes about what’s happening at Goodwill–from shopping to job training, and everything in between. With more than eight years experience as a writer and editor, she’s written a wide variety of pieces on food, travel, beauty and green living, plus hundreds of profiles.
Her book, Justice at Guantanamo: One Woman’s Odyssey and Her Crusade for Human Rights, co-authored with Kristine Huskey, was published by Globe Pequot Press in 2009. Find more about her at AleighAcerni.com.

Emily A. Clark, Home Stylist
It makes Emily cringe to pay full price for anything–especially when it comes to decorating her own home. That’s why Goodwill is always on her round of weekly stops when bargain shopping for herself and for her design clients.
Soon after graduating with a degree in Public Relations, Emily realized her mind was mostly consumed with decorating her and her husband’s first home and helping family and friends with their spaces. She worked as a design consultant with Ethan Allen Interiors prior to becoming a stay-at-home mommy of three.
She started Emily A. Clark Interiors in 2009 and writes the design blog, www.emilyaclark.com. She prides herself on creating beautiful spaces without spending a lot of money and seizes the opportunity to re-purpose and re-paint older pieces to give them a more modern look.
