Guest Post: DIY Photo Booth

October 31, 2011

The photo booth has been the party favorite of the year. If you’re putting together your own Halloween bash tonight, or planning for holiday festivities (or even a wedding!), here are two quick ideas on how to create your own themed photo booth for just a few dollars.

Photo Booth:

To create your photo “booth,” grab a big frame from Goodwill. If it has glass, just take it out, and spray paint the frame a fun color, if you’d like. Designate a certain spot at your party for photos (Include a camera on a tripod if you can.), and all guests have to do is hold up the frame and snap away. You can also hang the frame from the ceiling with a blank wall in the background, as described on the blog Fun in the Making.

Everyone loves the mustache-on-a-stick photo prop, but Lisa Storms had the brilliant idea to create jack o’ lantern smiles, instead. She includes a template on her blog for the traditional cut-out cackle, or you can freehand your own range of smiles, snarls, and scary faces.

If dressing up in costume for your party is optional, then try to include other props for people to choose from. You’re sure to find a great range of hilarious hats, old jewelry, and miscellaneous costume pieces at your local Goodwill this time of year.Photos links: here, here and here.

Yes, this is a good article. We had a Blow-up huge headless horseman and carriage as a background.

The photobooth was such a success!
