How to: Decorate for Thanksgiving on a dime

November 19, 2012

Thanksgiving is almost here, which means you have just a couple of days to finalize your entertaining plans. Not hosting this year? Your holiday hosts would likely love some help in the decoration department! Decorating your Thanksgiving table doesn’t have to be hard (or expensive!). We’ve pulled together a few last-minute ideas using items from Goodwill.

Turn those pesky, prickly sweetgums into napkin ties with a little spray paint, napkins from Goodwill and this tutorial from Martha Stewart.

We love creating fresh centerpieces (or mantles) using fruit and freshly cut greenery. Browse your local Goodwill store for jars, vases or any clear container and simply purchase some cranberries or scoop up some acorns for a festive holiday look. Tips here from Real Simple.

We love this idea from Southern Living – create a beautiful, classic centerpiece using leaves and florals bunched into a vegetable dish or platter (again, check Goodwill for options).

So, what about you? How are you planning to decorate your Thanksgiving table or holiday mantle?
