Goodwill Supports Family Sustaining Employment
As many people reflect on 2012, what were your accomplishments and challenges? What do you want to do better in 2013? Setting goals and annual resolutions are top priorities in January, but how do you sustain them throughout the year?
Here at Goodwill, beginning the year means reflecting on how we can accomplish our mission of Changing Lives Through the Power of Work. Our goal is to transform job seekers facing employment barriers into qualified, competitive candidates ready to enter the workforce. To accomplish this goal, we never stop looking for individuals and business partners that promote the creation of quality jobs in our community and provide valuable work experience and training for deserving people.
For thousands of Mecklenburg County residents, goals pertaining to career advancement seem unattainable. Goodwill continues to be a leader with employment services and training programs to prepare people to obtain family sustaining employment.
If you are fortunate enough to have a career that brings you both personal and professional satisfaction, consider sharing your industry knowledge with participants in our workforce development services. From tips on how to craft a better resume to offering an insider’s look at a specific career, your expertise and real world experience can help provide someone with the skills and resources necessary for sustainable employment and self-sufficiency.
